Site Engineer (Housing Development)

About the role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join the BHA Construction team on large-scale housing developments in Dunshaughlin. The role is hands-on, focused on setting out, quality control and coordination with the Senior Engineer, Site Manager and subcontractors to deliver safe, high-quality homes.

Key responsibilities

• Set out foundations, substructures, superstructures, services, roads and external works using a Total Station.
• Check plans, drawings and specifications for accuracy and buildability.
• Maintain accurate setting-out records and as-built information.
• Carry out quality checks and inspections in line with drawings and specifications.
• Assist with BCAR inspections, documentation and sign-offs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure works are set out and built correctly.
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site together with the Site Manager.
• Monitor compliance with Building Regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Liaise with design teams on technical queries.
• Support programme delivery by ensuring engineering works are ready ahead of construction activities.

Required profile

• Practical, site-based engineer comfortable taking responsibility and working at pace.
• Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Proven ability to use a Total Station confidently and accurately.
• Strong setting-out experience on housing developments.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with groundworks, concrete, drainage and external works.
• Proactive, problem-solving approach.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with site teams and subcontractors.
