Site Engineer – Manufacturing Equipment & Validation

About the role

The Site Engineer will support the maintenance, calibration, validation and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, instrumentation and site systems for a regulated manufacturing organisation in County Kerry. Reporting to the QA Lead for Production and Maintenance, the role works closely with Quality, Production, external contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and operational reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support maintenance activities for all manufacturing equipment and instrumentation.
• Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed and records are accurate.
• Assist with IQ, OQ and PQ activities for new and existing equipment.
• Validate, calibrate and maintain critical utilities such as purified water, WFI, HVAC and autoclaves.
• Oversee day‑to‑day engineering functions to minimise downtime.
• Support procurement of spare parts and engineering consumables.
• Identify and drive equipment, process and site‑system improvement opportunities.
• Maintain compliant documentation and support audit readiness.

Required profile

• Technically strong engineering professional with hands‑on problem‑solving ability.
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Ability to collaborate with Quality, Production, external contractors and regulatory bodies.
• Attention to detail and commitment to compliance standards.
