Site Engineer – Portlaoise (Construction)

About the role

We are seeking a Site Engineer to join a leading construction contractor on a major commercial development in Portlaoise. The role involves overseeing the technical delivery of the project, ensuring quality, safety and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Set out and survey the site in accordance with design specifications.
• Manage technical aspects of construction, coordinating with site management and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate progress records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Resolve technical challenges and support the project team to stay on schedule and budget.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of setting out, surveying and construction methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant certifications.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ability to work under pressure.
