Software Development Engineer – Secure Services for AWS Physical Locations

About the role

Join the Amazon Optics team as a Software Development Engineer focused on building secure services that protect AWS physical locations worldwide. You will design, develop, and operate critical infrastructure using a fully Infrastructure as Code environment, delivering solutions that scale across all AWS regions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure services that safeguard AWS data‑center sites.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Drive operational excellence by investigating root causes and applying permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance customer value and team objectives.
• Participate in code reviews, produce clear documentation, and mentor peers.
• Automate manual processes to improve efficiency for both the team and customers.

Required profile

• EU citizenship (as required by the position).
• Strong software engineering background with experience delivering large‑scale, reliable services.
• Ability to solve complex architectural challenges and simplify solutions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
