Software Engineer, Elixir

About the role

Telnyx is looking for a Software Engineer specialized in Elixir to join the team that builds and maintains the core platform enabling seamless communication services. You will work on high‑traffic APIs, authentication, rate‑limiting and other critical components that power Telnyx’s global connectivity solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain APIs, services and systems across multiple engineering squads.
• Debug and resolve production incidents across gateway, authentication, network and application layers.
• Collaborate with engineers company‑wide to deliver new features at large scale.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes, observability and reliability.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience using Elixir.
• Strong appreciation for functional programming and desire to become an Elixir expert.
• Thoughtful decision‑making ability, balancing speed and long‑term optimization.
• Experience with relational databases at scale and understanding of concurrent and distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and anti‑patterns.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Prometheus, Grafana and/or RabbitMQ.
• Passion for staying up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and sharing knowledge.
