Software Engineer – Front Office Technology (Dublin)

About the role

Our client, a leading multi‑strategy investment firm, is expanding its Front Office technology team in Dublin. They are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design and enhance critical systems that support trading and investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services for front‑office investment and trading workflows.
• Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Build scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot, and contribute to full‑stack initiatives when needed.
• Integrate with internal platforms, market data providers and external counterparties.
• Participate in system design discussions, technical decision‑making and promote engineering best practices across testing, deployment and monitoring.

Required profile

• Commercial experience developing enterprise software, preferably within financial services, investment management or capital markets.
• Strong backend engineering background with Java, Spring Boot and Python.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming, software design principles and system architecture.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work onsite in Dublin.
