Software Engineer - Product Security

About the role

Datavant is seeking a Software Engineer focused on Product Security to design, build, and maintain secure, reliable systems that support its healthcare data collaboration platform. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, partnering with product, security, and platform teams to enhance security capabilities while ensuring system quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features within the internal system portfolio, from requirements gathering to production deployment.
• Design and implement backend services using Golang and frontend components with JavaScript in a single‑page application architecture.
• Integrate internal systems and third‑party APIs for data ingestion, normalization, and synchronization.
• Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability as usage scales.
• Write clean, well‑tested code and actively participate in pull‑request reviews.
• Collaborate with product, security, and platform stakeholders to define requirements, assess trade‑offs, and set scope.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as a subject‑matter expert for your code areas.
• Identify and drive refactoring, cleanup, CI/CD, and observability enhancements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering software projects from design through production.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a thoughtful, collaborative problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and raise issues early.
