Specialist Support Worker

About the role

Nua Healthcare Services is one of Ireland's leading care providers, offering residential, supported living, day services and community outreach services to children and adults with complex support needs. It is seeking a compassionate, motivated and dedicated Specialist Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support that empowers individuals to develop independence and lead meaningful lives. The post holder receives support in developing and upskilling in care delivery and in building professional working relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Support individuals in planning and managing their daily activities and routines
• Help individuals access and participate in their local community
• Assist with education, skills development and personal goals and outcomes
• Support independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments and maintaining family and social connections
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations and codes of practice
• Work flexible shift patterns across a 24-hour, 7-day service

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in residential social care
• No formal qualifications required, as training and development are provided
• Full driving licence, or actively working towards one
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and flexibility to work across shifts

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families, colleagues and professionals
