Staff Nurse – Community Disability Services

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join our community disability services team, delivering high‑quality nursing care across the Strokestown, Elphin, Tulsk, Ballinagare and Ballaghaderreen areas. The role is permanent, full‑time and pensionable, and is open to both HSE and non‑HSE applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to clients with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Administer medication, wound care, and other clinical interventions according to best practice guidelines.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support clients and families with health education, advocacy and coordination of community resources.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification recognised in Ireland.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Experience working in community or disability settings is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to person‑centred care.
