Staff Nurse – Intellectual Disability (Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Staff Nurse to join Corlann Disability Services in Galway City, delivering high‑quality nursing care to adults with intellectual disabilities. The position is full‑time, permanent and based on‑site, supporting a multidisciplinary team in a community‑based setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care for service users with intellectual disabilities.
• Administer medication, monitor health status and respond to acute changes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with therapists, social workers and families to promote holistic wellbeing.
• Participate in team meetings, case reviews and continuous professional development activities.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current PIN from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Experience or strong interest in working with adults who have intellectual disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to person‑centred care and adherence to HSE guidelines.
