Staff Nurse (Relief)

About the role

Enable Ireland is seeking a motivated Staff Nurse to join its community‑based respite house in Bray, County Wicklow. The role is a relief position, providing high‑quality nursing care to children with physical, sensory or mild‑to‑moderate intellectual disabilities during short‑term stays.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing assessments, medication administration and wound care in line with best practice.
• Support daily living activities and promote independence for residents.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary team members.
• Participate in care planning, health monitoring and emergency response as required.

Required profile

• Registered (or eligible for registration) General Nurse on the NMBI Register.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and ability to maintain annual NMBI registration.
• Minimum one year post‑qualification nursing experience.
• Experience working with children with disabilities is desirable.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in nursing care for children with complex needs.
• Ability to document and manage patient information accurately.
