Staff Product Designer – Knowledge Graph

About the role

As a Staff Product Designer you will lead the design of cross‑cutting platform experiences at GitLab, starting with the Knowledge Graph. You will turn ambiguous problems into clear design direction, shape both tactical solutions and strategic vision, and ship work that improves the experience for developers and DevSecOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the end‑to‑end design process for platform‑wide features and workflows.
• Define tactical deliverables that solve immediate user problems and strategic outputs that align with the long‑term platform vision.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and other designers to align priorities, scope MVPs, and maintain design intent through development.
• Contribute to the Pajamas Design System and share knowledge across the organization.
• Mentor junior designers and model collaborative, iterative ways of working.
• Raise the quality bar through interaction design, visual design, and systems thinking, providing thoughtful feedback in design reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading design for complex, platform‑level products.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across multiple teams.
• Comfort with translating ambiguity into clear, actionable design direction.
• Commitment to mentorship and knowledge sharing.
