Store Supervisor (Trainee Manager) – Full‑Time

About the role

SPAR Portarlington is seeking a motivated Store Supervisor (Trainee Manager) to join its full‑time team. You will support the Store Manager in delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and driving sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the retail sales team and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Maintain store merchandising, housekeeping, and compliance with company procedures.
• Coordinate in‑store promotions, update shelf‑edge labels weekly, and respond to market trends.
• Handle cash registers, enforce cash‑handling policies, and manage back‑office operations.
• Address customer complaints, implement store improvements, and ensure consistent service quality.
• Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management of sales assistants.
• Act as deputy Store Manager when required and support achievement of sales targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years retail experience, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• Operational knowledge of a retail environment and understanding of HACCP, health & safety, and consumer legislation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Self‑motivated, ambitious, and computer literate.

Required skills

• CBE back‑office system (advantageous)
