Supervising Pharmacist – Mitchelstown

About the role

The pharmacy in Mitchelstown, County Cork is seeking a qualified Supervising Pharmacist to lead the dispensing team from Monday to Thursday. You will ensure that all prescription activities comply with Irish legislation and provide high‑quality patient care in a busy retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Supervising Pharmacist, overseeing all dispensing operations.
• Generate and maintain required paperwork and records in line with pharmacy legislation.
• Dispense prescription medicines and perform clinical, pharmaceutical and order‑entry quality reviews.
• Conduct accuracy checks on all prescriptions before preparation.
• Liaise with prescribers to resolve clinical queries.
• Provide patient counselling and medication advice.
• Arrange locum cover for holidays or absences.
• Participate in continuous professional development and maintain professional standards.
• Drive continuous quality improvement, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure environmental health & safety requirements are met.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
• Proven experience in community pharmacy, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Irish pharmacy legislation and guidelines.
• Ability to supervise and train pharmacy technicians and sales assistants.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Willingness to work Monday‑Thursday with occasional flexibility for Friday/Saturday coverage.
