Systems Resilience Engineer – Hybrid Cloud Storage

About the role

Qumulo is looking for a Systems Resilience Engineer to join the Hybrid Cloud Storage team in Cork. You will be one of the first hires tasked with discovering how the platform can fail before customers do, ensuring mission‑critical workloads remain reliable at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operationalise testing for new features, scaling them to real‑world usage and deliberately breaking them.
• Automate manual, repetitive testing using Python, Jenkins and Argo, and build a data‑driven test schedule.
• Troubleshoot build and test failures across VM instances and Qumulo‑qualified hardware.
• Read cluster output and C error logs to differentiate infrastructure issues from genuine bugs.
• Set up monitoring and alerting with OpenMetrics, Grafana, InfluxDB and Prometheus.
• Help define the quality bar for releases and participate in on‑call rotation for owned systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years building and operating automated testing, validation or certification for complex software systems.
• Strong programming ability in C and fluency in Linux (Ubuntu) and Python.
• Hands‑on experience with both on‑premises infrastructure and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Track record of creating test plans, not just executing them.
• Data‑driven approach to deciding what to test and how often.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform), containers and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networking, storage IOPS/latency and protocols (NFS, SMB, S3) is a strong plus.
