Team Lead – Cybersecurity Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity engineering leader to head a high‑performing team in Galway. The role combines technical leadership with people management, focusing on delivering secure, cloud‑native products in an Agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cybersecurity engineers, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
• Drive the delivery of secure, cloud‑native products from design through deployment.
• Champion Secure SDLC practices and embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define technical strategy and achieve business outcomes.
• Guide architectural decisions and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• Use data, analytics, and delivery metrics to drive continuous improvement and informed decision‑making.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
• Support the growth of junior and senior engineers through coaching and mentorship.

Required profile

• Previous people‑management experience in a technical environment.
• Proven track record delivering software products in an engineering setting.
• Strong background in scalable, cloud‑native applications and Secure SDLC principles.
• Solid understanding of systems architecture, software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, AWS, and DevSecOps.
• Data‑driven mindset with experience using engineering metrics to improve delivery and performance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent.
