Textile Buyer – Retail Purchasing

About the role

Dunnes Stores, Ireland’s leading retailer, is seeking a Textile Buyer to develop and source trend‑driven product ranges that meet sales and profitability targets across stores and online channels.

Key responsibilities

• Build seasonal financial budgets and range plans in partnership with the Department Merchandiser.
• Deliver a balanced, commercially viable product range at competitive prices, tailored for each region and online.
• Analyse sales performance by product, colour, size, region and channel to optimise assortment.
• Manage supplier relationships, evaluating performance on innovation, sustainability, reliability and cost.
• Collaborate with the Sustainability/Ethical Sourcing team to onboard new factories that meet quality and innovation standards.
• Coordinate with other Buyers to negotiate best cost and value on common fabrics, trims and garments.
• Work with Design teams to translate fabric trends into consumer‑ready products.
• Benchmark competition and develop action plans to stay ahead in‑store and online.
• Approve styling, fit, size grading and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail buying or merchandising, preferably within fashion or textiles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and adjust ranges accordingly.
• Excellent supplier management and negotiation abilities.
• Good understanding of sustainability and ethical sourcing principles.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with design, merchandising and technical teams.
