Transport Engineer – Infrastructure Design

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking a Transport Engineer to join its Dublin team. The role focuses on designing active‑travel, urban‑realm and street‑enhancement schemes for public and private sector projects across Ireland. You will work both in the office and remotely, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as designer for transport infrastructure projects, preparing outline, preliminary and detailed designs.
• Support the preparation of contract documents, tender submissions and construction‑phase documentation.
• Ensure all deliverables meet technical standards, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage the production of scheme deliverables and review technical reports.
• Assist in fee proposals, cost estimates and project budgeting.
• Provide on‑site client support during construction and participate in meetings with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers to meet design objectives and project timelines.
• Stay updated on advances in infrastructure design and adopt new technologies where appropriate.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in civil, transport or related engineering discipline.
• Experience working for a design consultancy on infrastructure or transport projects.
• Ability to develop client relationships and support construction activities.
• Strong understanding of contract documentation, tender processes and budgeting.
