Transport Planner

About the role

We are looking for an organised and detail‑oriented Transport Planner to coordinate daily transport operations across our growing network. You will work closely with drivers, warehouse teams and customers to ensure cost‑effective route planning and high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily and weekly transport routes for timely, cost‑effective deliveries.
• Coordinate fleet scheduling, driver assignments and vehicle availability.
• Monitor delivery progress and address delays or issues in real time.
• Liaise with customers regarding schedules, updates and service requirements.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours and tachograph regulations.
• Maintain accurate transport records and performance reports.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
• Strong geographical knowledge of Irish road networks.
• Understanding of driver‑hours legislation and transport compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with drivers and customers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with transport management systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
