Virtualization & Automation Specialist

About the role

KPMG Ireland is looking for a Virtualization & Automation Specialist to join its Dublin team. You will work in a hybrid environment, designing, deploying and managing large‑scale virtual infrastructures while driving automation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment and lifecycle management of VMware and Hyper‑V platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability and security.
• Develop, maintain and optimise automation scripts and workflows (PowerShell, Python) for provisioning, monitoring and maintaining virtual infrastructure.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for virtualization and automation, mentoring junior staff and promoting best practices.
• Provide hands‑on support for server systems in central and remote offices, troubleshooting complex issues.
• Integrate virtualization platforms with storage solutions (NetApp, SAN/NAS) and cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience architecting, deploying and managing large‑scale virtualization environments.
• Proven track record of leading virtualization projects from design through implementation and support.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft networking technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with hybrid and multi‑cloud platforms and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
