Account Manager – Surgical Sales (South of Ireland)

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Account Manager to drive surgical sales across the South of Ireland. You will act as the primary liaison for hospitals and theatre departments, promoting Alcon’s intra‑ocular lenses (IOLs), cataract consumables, and equipment while ensuring product availability and smooth invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Own total Alcon sales performance and market share for the IOL portfolio in the territory.
• Monitor consumable availability, manage stock issues and support product consumption reporting.
• Initiate equipment leads with support from product experts and develop cataract‑focused account plans.
• Gather market intelligence, translate insights into commercial actions, and provide end‑to‑end support for cataract customers.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers, using a consultative sales approach.
• Prepare and negotiate quotes, manage contract follow‑up, and coordinate specialist input when needed.
• Organise local events, track competitor activity, and drive demand generation through value‑based selling.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience in medical devices or pharma, preferably within a surgical environment.
• Consultative B2B selling experience, ideally with high‑end medical devices.
• Comfort interacting with both medical and non‑medical staff.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally in a matrix organisation.
