Accounting Technician

About the role

The Maples Group is seeking an Accounting Technician to join its Finance Team in Dublin. This hybrid position offers the chance to work within a global financial services firm, supporting a range of accounting activities for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including accruals and pre‑payments.
• Liaise with vendors on invoice queries and with internal teams on client disbursements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and address transaction queries with banks.
• Prepare credit‑card entries and reconcile credit‑card statements.
• Execute balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain the fixed‑asset register with depreciation charges.
• Assist with month‑end close, performance reporting, statutory accounts, and annual audits.
• Prepare VIES returns and ensure inter‑company balances are settled.
• Produce non‑routine analysis of specific accounts as required.

Required profile

• High ethical standards and the ability to work autonomously.
• Accounting Technician qualification or part‑qualified accountant pursuing a professional qualification.
• Relevant experience in a similar accounting role.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interact with staff at all levels and with foreign offices.
• Strong attention to detail.
