Administrator – Children’s Services (West Region)

About the role
This permanent full‑time Administrator role supports the Children’s Services West Region, reporting to the Transport Manager, Children’s Sector Manager and Children Service Coordinator. The position is based at the Woodlands Campus in Renmore, Galway and requires flexibility to meet service demands.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Transport Manager, Children’s Sector Manager and Children Service Coordinator.
- Manage office tasks in a busy environment, handling multiple concurrent pieces of work.
- Maintain accurate records, correspondence and confidential information.
- Coordinate scheduling and travel arrangements, ensuring compliance with service needs.
Required profile
- Recognised qualification in secretarial/administration or equivalent (ECDL desirable).
- 3‑5 years’ experience in a busy office setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Full clean driving licence and own vehicle.
Required skills
- Proficiency in IT packages.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office.
- ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or equivalent.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
What we offer
- Permanent full‑time, pensionable position (Grade IV) with a salary range €36,470 – €52,757 per annum.
- 26 days of annual leave.
- Flexible working hours (70 hours per fortnight) with potential shift variation.
- Travel expenses reimbursed and a base at Woodlands Campus, Renmore, Galway.
- Probation period of nine months.
