Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Sheet Metal & Composite

About the role

Airbus International Services is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer specialised in sheet metal and composite work (SMW) to join its Helicopter Technical Operations team in Dublin. The role involves performing structural modifications and repairs on aircraft, ensuring compliance with Airbus maintenance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out sheet‑metal and composite repair tasks, including drilling, bending, riveting, dimpling, filing, grinding, trimming and countersinking.
• Interpret and apply the Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness for each repair.
• Fabricate or repair defective sections using metal‑fabricating machines, saws, brakes, shears and grinders.
• Install repaired components on aircraft structural assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
• Work on‑site with AIS/Helicopter teams or as a detached technician at customer premises, reporting to the designated technical point of contact.
• Sign off relevant end‑user documentation in accordance with Part‑145 regulations.

Required profile

• Fully qualified aircraft maintenance technician with strong knowledge of Part‑145 activities.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and repair data sheets.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to be available outside normal working hours for customer support.
• Professional, adaptable attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
