Application Engineer

About the role

The Application Engineer will design, develop, and maintain bespoke software solutions, ranging from back‑end services to client‑facing applications. This on‑site position works closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance systems for industrial environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage software‑centric projects, ensuring thorough verification and validation.
• Translate user requirements into functional, scalable applications.
• Design, code, test, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain source control using Git and document changes.
• Integrate applications with external vendor systems, databases, and industrial devices (e.g., PLCs).
• Apply operational‑excellence tools to continuously improve processes.
• Support "Plant of the Future" initiatives and implement DevOps practices on Azure.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant programming and systems support experience.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Methodical, well‑structured approach with good judgment and decision‑making.
• Strategic mindset and experience delivering projects in complex system environments.

Required skills

• C# and .NET/.NET Core (including WPF).
• SQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2014‑2019.
• VB6, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• Web frameworks: Vue, AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery, HTML5.
• Git version control.
• Azure cloud platform and DevOps practices.
• Factory Talk Batch, PLC, SCADA, HMI knowledge (advantageous).
• LINQ, XML, JSON (advantageous).
• Microsoft Server 2012‑2019 OS.
