Asset Reliability / Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Asset Reliability / Maintenance Engineer will be the site expert for asset management systems, ensuring reliable operation of plant equipment and compliance with regulatory standards. You will work closely with maintenance, production and project teams to optimise asset performance and support major shutdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject‑matter expert for SAP and Asset Integrity Programs, maintaining accurate asset records.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and company asset‑management requirements.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Analyse equipment performance and criticality to optimise spare‑parts inventory.
• Define maintenance scope for major and partial shutdowns and lead the gate‑keeping process.
• Manage inspection strategies, prepare test programmes and maintain periodic maintenance plans.
• Update spare‑parts strategy and coordinate stock levels with Maintenance, Project Engineering and Production.
• Validate equipment fitness for service, including updating EPD and P&IDs.
• Support internal and external audits and drive reliability‑focused Lean improvements.
• Deliver technical and asset‑management training to site personnel.
• Participate in incident investigations, SHE‑reviews, HAZOPs and RCFA studies.
• Liaise with external contractors and OEMs during maintenance and project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Mechanical, Chemical, Process or related engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical or similar process manufacturing.
• Strong technical knowledge of maintenance engineering and asset reliability.
