Assistant Designer – Health & Beauty

About the role

As an Assistant Designer you will work closely with Primark’s Buying and Merchandising teams to translate emerging trends into product concepts. You will collaborate with a senior Designer and other product designers to create fashion‑forward, commercial ranges that reflect the Primark brand. The role requires a passion for fashion, curiosity, and the ability to predict key trends using research and forecasting tools.

Key responsibilities

• Research emerging fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends and turn insights into product ideas.
• Support the creation of trend‑led, customer‑focused product ranges in partnership with Design, Buying and Merchandising.
• Assist with product development, range building and packaging design to bring concepts to life.
• Prepare trend boards, design presentations and supplier‑facing materials while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Monitor product performance, market trends and competitor activity to inform future collections.
• Manage critical path deadlines, product updates and cross‑functional communication to ensure successful delivery of ranges.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a Trainee or Assistant Designer role.
• Solid understanding of design processes, product qualities and specifications.
• Strong research abilities and a keen eye for fashion trends.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Buying, Merchandising and Design teams.
