Assistant Manager

About the role

Sports Direct is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in delivering a world‑class retail experience. You will be a key driver of team performance, visual standards, and sales results across a high‑traffic store.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the store team, maintaining high standards of customer service.
• Act as a role model for delivering the Sports Direct brand experience.
• Create an engaging work environment and plan succession strategies.
• Provide on‑the‑spot feedback, celebrate successes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee visual merchandising to ensure the store meets brand guidelines.
• Drive sales performance, exceed targets, and support commercial goals.
• Ensure best‑practice operational processes are followed by the team.

Required profile

• Recent management experience in a retail environment.
• Passion for retail and people development.
• Confident leader who can motivate and challenge staff.
• Data‑led, target‑driven and detail‑oriented.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Strong desire to excel and promote company values.
