Assistant Manager – Retail

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead a store team at Sports Direct. The role combines people leadership, visual merchandising, and sales performance to deliver a world‑class customer experience across our retail network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of retail staff, ensuring high standards of customer service.
• Act as a role model for visual merchandising, maintaining store presentation in line with the Sports Direct brand.
• Drive sales and operational performance, meeting and exceeding set targets.
• Provide on‑the‑spot feedback, celebrate successes and implement succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with best practice, commercial goals and brand knowledge.

• Recent management experience in a retail environment.
• Passion for retail and people development.
• Confident leader who can motivate and challenge staff.
• Data‑driven, target‑focused and detail‑oriented.
• Strong communication skills at all organisational levels.
