Assistant Manager – Retail Store (Athlone)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of a high‑profile retail store in Athlone. You will work closely with the Store Manager, driving turnover, revenue and customer satisfaction while applying lean principles to optimise performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day‑to‑day running of a department.
• Act as Duty Manager for the entire store in the absence of Store Management.
• Assist Store Management in achieving company KPIs.
• Ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service.
• Maintain exemplary standards in store presentation, stock control, shrinkage and administrative compliance.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and legislation.
• Use management information to make strategic business decisions.

Required profile

• Proven track record in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Enjoy being on the shop floor – no office‑only role.
• Strong operational, leadership, planning, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Target‑driven and customer‑service oriented.
• Highly motivated, ambitious and a self‑starter with a can‑do attitude.
