About the role

Spencer Recruitment, a fast‑growing agency specialising in PR, Communications, Public Affairs and Marketing, is looking for an Associate Director of Recruitment to join its senior leadership team. This senior, high‑impact position will combine commercial acumen with strategic leadership, allowing you to own a desk, shape agency direction and drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead business development across PR, Communications, Public Affairs and Marketing, identifying and converting new client opportunities.
  • Own and expand a portfolio of senior client relationships, acting as a trusted strategic partner.
  • Represent Spencer Recruitment at client meetings, pitches and industry events.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase market share and revenue for your desk.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, including retained and exclusive mandates.
  • Manage the full 360° recruitment cycle for mid‑to‑senior level roles, from briefing to offer.
  • Build and maintain a high‑calibre candidate network and provide competency‑based assessments.
  • Consistently achieve personal billing targets and KPIs.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team strategy and market intelligence.

Required profile

  • Minimum 5+ years of recruitment experience with a proven senior consultant or management track record.
  • Demonstrated strong personal billing and successful business development, including winning and retaining senior client accounts.
  • Experience managing complex, senior‑level assignments.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive revenue growth.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and data accuracy.
  • Competency‑based interviewing and candidate assessment.
  • Market analysis and trend monitoring.
