Associate Internal Auditor – Asset & Wealth Management

About the role

The Associate Internal Auditor will join Northern Trust’s Asset Management and Wealth Management audit team, providing assurance over the firm’s global wealth and asset management activities. Working under a Senior Audit Manager, you will contribute to audit planning, execution and reporting while gaining exposure to enterprise‑wide risks, business processes and key technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Review key risks and controls within assigned business areas.
• Execute audit testing, document results and assess the effectiveness of controls.
• Develop working knowledge of Northern Trust’s audit methodology.
• Participate in meetings with audit stakeholders and business‑unit management.
• Assist with audit planning activities, including walkthroughs and process‑flow documentation.
• Identify potential control weaknesses and emerging risk themes through analytical thinking.

Required profile

• Strong interest in financial services, internal audit and risk management.
• Desire to pursue professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or IIA.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned work.
