Associate Planner – Senior Planning Role in Dublin

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a leading planning and development consultancy in Ireland to hire an Associate Planner. The role is based in Dublin with hybrid working and offers the chance to lead complex planning projects and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on planning and environmental legislation.
• Offer strategic input on project direction and forward‑planning initiatives.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Lead planning applications, LRDs, feasibility studies, due‑diligence work, EIARs, RIAs, HNDAs and strategic policy projects.
• Liaise and negotiate with planning authorities, consultees and third parties.
• Oversee project budgets and financial performance.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Mentor and manage junior members of the planning team.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in Planning.
• Membership of IPI and/or RTPI (or working towards chartership).
• Strong consultancy experience with detailed understanding of the Irish planning system.
• Proven experience leading large‑scale planning projects.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Ability to balance multiple projects while acting as a team leader.
