About the role
O'Neill Foley, a leading independent accountancy and advisory firm in Ireland, is seeking an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager to support its growing client base. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who wants to take on greater responsibility, supervise junior staff, and build direct client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, execute and finalise audit and accounts assignments for a diverse portfolio of family businesses, owner‑managed companies and not‑for‑profit organisations.
- Develop and maintain direct working relationships with clients, acting as a reliable point of contact for day‑to‑day matters.
- Supervise trainee and qualified staff on engagements, reviewing work and providing on‑the‑job coaching.
- Manage your own time and that of the team to meet budgets and deadlines.
- Support the Manager and partners in delivering technical advice, drawing on the wider team when needed.
- Take an active role in your own technical development and in the development of trainees.
- Contribute to internal initiatives that improve team efficiency.
Required profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with two to four years post‑qualification experience in audit and accounts.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and current auditing standards.
- Proven experience supervising junior staff on engagements.
- Confidence in dealing directly with clients and building lasting relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise multiple live assignments.
- Motivated to develop both personally and within the team.
