Audit Senior – Chartered Accountant (1‑2 yrs experience)

About the role

SCD Accountants Ltd. is looking for an Audit Senior to join its permanent team in Newbridge. This full‑time, office‑based role offers the chance to work on a diverse client portfolio across multiple industries, supporting high‑quality audit projects while developing your accounting career.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion.
• Conduct external audits under ISAs for FRS 102 and IFRS clients.
• Prepare and file Income Tax, VAT, PAYE/PRSI, P35 and corporation tax returns.
• Liaise directly with clients, addressing queries and providing expert advice.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements for the business.
• Manage workflow and support partners on complex matters.
• Maintain responsibility for a client portfolio and perform ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Full qualification in ACA or ACCA (candidates awaiting final results are welcome).
• 1‑2 years of Irish practice experience, preferably in audit.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, payroll and VAT.
• Excellent communication, analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Pro‑active attitude with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks.
