Backend Software Engineer – Cloud‑Native Platform

About the role
This role sits at the core of a modern cloud‑native platform used by thousands of developers worldwide. You will design and maintain backend systems that power critical infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability and scalability.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for a high‑availability cloud platform.
- Develop and evolve microservices architecture to ensure performance, scalability and fault tolerance.
- Optimize database structures and queries (SQL and NoSQL) to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure system resilience, high availability and robust error handling across distributed environments.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps and other stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end features.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, performance tuning and system optimisation.
- Support CI/CD practices and smooth deployment processes.
Required profile
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Proficiency in Go, Python or Node.js.
- Strong understanding of relational and non‑relational databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with distributed or event‑driven systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure preferred.
- Understanding of containerisation and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively.
