Base Maintenance Manager – Part 145

About the role

The Base Maintenance Manager leads all base and line maintenance activities performed under the organisation's EASA Part‑145 approval. The role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution of maintenance work across the IAC 145 facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Engineers and coordinate base and line maintenance, ensuring sufficient manpower and resources.
• Manage audits, non‑conformances, and drive root‑cause, corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with EASA, UK and other authority requirements.
• Promote safe working practices in line with health‑and‑safety policies.
• Provide performance feedback, develop staff skills and address performance issues.
• Prioritise aircraft issues, driving urgency on critical items.
• Oversee performance management, training approvals and completion.
• Coordinate with HR on attendance, conduct and discipline.
• Foster a reporting and SMS culture, including change management and risk assessment.

Required profile

• Current EASA Part‑66 licence or equivalent third‑level qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a base maintenance environment, managing large teams.
• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance operations, manpower planning, facilities and training requirements.

Required skills

• Experience with Aircraft Maintenance Systems such as Airbus World and Boeing online.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
