Buyer Planner – Supply Chain

About the role

We are looking for a Buyer Planner to join a global manufacturing organisation’s Supply Chain team in Athlone. The role combines production planning, inventory management and material flow optimisation in a fast‑paced environment, supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan manufactured products to meet service targets while optimising production schedules and resource utilisation.
• Manage material flow, inventory investment, supply risks and total cost of ownership, including expedite and premium freight costs.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, governance processes and stakeholder communication.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce cost, optimise inventory and improve service levels.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, Operations, Quality and Global Supply Chain teams.
• Ensure effective use of ERP/MRP systems and planning processes.

Required profile

• Degree qualified with 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management or procurement.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with advanced Excel capability.
• Proven track record of improving supply chain or planning processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle or ASCP.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
