Buyer – Procurement for Construction Projects

About the role

The Buyer will source, purchase, and manage the supply of materials, products, and services required for partitioning and interior fit‑out projects across large‑scale residential developments in Dublin and surrounding areas. Working closely with Commercial, Contracts, and Site Management teams, the role ensures value‑driven procurement while maintaining quality, schedule, and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure materials, plant, and subcontract services in line with project requirements and company procedures.
• Obtain competitive quotations, analyse pricing and negotiate favourable commercial terms.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, pricing, delivery and service levels.
• Coordinate deliveries with site teams to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Managers and Project Managers to understand procurement needs.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, value engineering and procurement efficiencies.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Buyer or Procurement Officer within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials such as drywall partitions, suspended ceilings, insulation and fixings.
• Experience on large residential or commercial construction projects.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management abilities.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems.
