Buyer – Procurement for Manufacturing Site

About the role

As a Buyer you will ensure a reliable supply of raw materials and components for our manufacturing operation in Loughrea, supporting production stability, new product introductions and continuous improvement. You will own sourcing and procurement for assigned categories, balancing cost, quality, compliance and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials from approved global suppliers in line with GMP and company policy.
• Maintain continuity of supply through planning, dual‑sourcing and proactive risk management.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs and delivery schedules to deliver total value.
• Develop secondary sources to mitigate supply‑chain risk and improve resilience.
• Monitor inventory levels, review MRP/forecast signals and act to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Maintain accurate material and supplier master data and champion data quality.
• Coordinate inbound logistics with freight partners for shipments from Europe and Asia.
• Support NPI projects by sourcing new materials on time and meeting launch milestones.
• Track supplier performance using KPIs and drive corrective actions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage purchasing deviations, change controls, investigations and CAPAs within the QMS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a fast‑paced, GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to plan, forecast and manage supply‑chain risk.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a track record of delivering cost‑effective solutions.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Regulatory and Project teams.
