Buyer – Procurement Specialist in Westport, Co. Mayo

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Buyer to join a leading supply‑chain solutions provider serving the pharmaceutical and medical‑device sectors. Based in Westport, Co. Mayo, you will work full‑time on‑site, supporting a fast‑paced environment with strong job security and clear progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide price quotations to customers, ensuring best value for money and maintaining audit‑ready records.
• Liaise with external suppliers, engineering, pharmaceutical and biomedical customers, and third‑party subcontractors to sustain proactive relationships.
• Place purchase orders for new and existing products and manage returns to suppliers.
• Utilise the company’s ERP system (SAP) for processing sales orders, controlling inventory, and handling customer‑owned stock.
• Issue, receive, and manage inventory, ensuring accurate stock‑control records.
• Collaborate with other business units to ensure efficient store‑related functions.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Previous procurement and negotiation experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Strong IT proficiency, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Excellent communication skills and a reliable, hardworking attitude.
