Buyer/Planner – Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for ensuring that all materials required for manufacturing are available on time and at the right cost. Working within an electronic manufacturing environment, you will coordinate forecasts, procurement, and inventory to support multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and procure materials to meet manufacturing build requirements for one or several product lines.
• Review forecasted demand and purchase materials accordingly, balancing inventory turnover.
• Qualify new suppliers through surveys and site visits, and set up supplier accounts with finance.
• Collaborate with internal customers to manage returns, credits, and defective material issues.
• Work with Accounts Payable to resolve supplier invoice payment problems.
• Analyze capacity, cycle times, urgency, and material availability to create production schedules.
• Adjust orders based on production plans and ensure data integrity for material requirement planning.
• Act as liaison for new product introductions, attending weekly customer meetings and reviewing cost impacts.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks while adhering to professional standards.
• Strong judgment to make decisions that affect production schedules and inventory levels.
• Experience building internal and external relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal service teams.
• Knowledge of electronic manufacturing environments and the types of materials typically purchased.
