Canteen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Canteen Assistant to support the daily operations of the hotel canteen at Talbot Hotel Stillorgan. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will help create a pleasant dining experience for staff while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Greet employees warmly as they enter the canteen.
• Set up and clear tables for breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
• Restock food, beverages and utensils as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in line with health regulations.
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Reliability, punctuality and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (a plus).
