Casual Toll Operator

About the role

Egis is seeking Casual Toll Operators to provide relief cover for its 24/7 toll plaza operations. This flexible, on‑site role involves working varied hours, including nights and weekends, to ensure smooth traffic flow and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Collect tolls at the toll plaza and issue receipts or change as needed.
• Identify vehicles by class/type and apply the correct toll rates.
• Maintain optimal traffic flow to minimise delays and meet throughput targets.
• Follow cash‑handling procedures, transfer cash to the Cash Office, and complete end‑of‑shift cash‑up.
• Address or escalate customer enquiries, complaints, and policy enforcement according to established guidelines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer‑service environment, preferably with cash handling.
• Experience in a similar toll‑collection or retail role.
• Health & safety training such as First Aid, Fire Warden, or manual handling.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to manage customer conflict and enforce company policies.
• Adaptable, flexible, and willing to work irregular hours.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and a team‑oriented mindset.
