Chief Operating Officer

About the role

The business is a fast‑growing e‑commerce fulfilment and logistics company operating across Ireland and the UK. It is investing in a scalable, data‑driven operations platform and is hiring its first Chief Operating Officer to lead this transition.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi‑site warehouse operations, labour, capacity and carrier management in Ireland and the UK.
• Own the full client lifecycle post‑contract, driving client success and onboarding.
• Manage operational finance, producing weekly profitability scorecards, margin improvement initiatives and cost‑to‑serve analysis.
• Drive process, technology and continuous improvement, including WMS optimisation, automation and fostering a data‑driven culture.
• Report directly to the founders, shape network strategy and make decisions on facility consolidation and expansion.

Required profile

• 10‑15+ years senior leadership in operations‑heavy environments such as e‑commerce fulfilment, 3PL, FMCG, retail distribution or multi‑site warehousing.
• Proven track record as COO, Operations Director, Supply Chain Director, Logistics Director or General Manager with full P&L and multi‑site accountability.
• Experience scaling operations in high‑growth or founder‑led businesses.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, comfortable with P&L, EBITDA, unit economics and investment appraisal.
• Hands‑on familiarity with WMS platforms, KPI frameworks and Lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
• Low‑ego, numbers‑driven leadership style, comfortable on the warehouse floor and in the boardroom.
• A relevant degree is desirable but demonstrable impact is essential.
