Civil Engineer / Construction Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer / Construction Project Manager to lead road maintenance contracts for Kerry and Cork County Councils. The successful candidate will oversee daily site activities, manage resources, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations and coordinate labour, materials, and equipment.
• Manage sub‑contractors and suppliers to align work with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Monitor progress, report updates to senior management, and control project costs.
• Enforce health and safety protocols, conduct site inspections, and address safety concerns.
• Maintain quality standards, resolve issues, and optimise productivity while minimising waste.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders; lead site meetings and collaborate on budgets and cost control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience, preferably on road projects.
• Full, clean driving licence and ability to travel to multiple sites across County Cork and Kerry.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency with project management tools.
