Commercial Supervisor – Venue Operations

About the role

We are seeking an organised and reliable Commercial Supervisor to support the Venue Manager and Location Accountant at the Royal Dublin Society and Horse Racing Ireland venues. You will ensure smooth commercial operations during events, handling cash, tills and POS equipment while delivering excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare commercial areas for daily operations, ensuring floats, tills and PDQ machines are ready.
• Issue, record and reconcile floats, PDQs, fobs and related documentation with proper sign‑off.
• Brief and allocate commercial cashiers to event areas, providing cash‑handling and PDQ training.
• Monitor tills during events, perform spot checks, cash uplifts and change requirements, and investigate discrepancies.
• Inspect PDQ machines for faults, tampering or data‑protection issues and report them.
• Oversee end‑of‑day till declarations, ensuring cash, vouchers and paperwork are accurate and securely returned.
• Complete daily cash reconciliations and banking records, double‑checking figures for accuracy.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in cash handling and financial records.
• Organised, reliable and able to work under pressure during busy events.
• Previous experience in commercial cash handling, venue operations or similar environments.
