Commis Chef

About the role

The Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort, a four‑star historic estate in Ireland, is seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join its culinary team. Working under the Chef de Partie, you will contribute to the daily preparation of high‑quality meals for hotel guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meal ingredients by washing, peeling and chopping vegetables and fruits.
• Produce fresh sandwiches and soups on a daily basis.
• Set up workstations for lunch and dinner according to the Chef de Partie’s instructions.
• Ensure timely delivery of food from your station to service lines.
• Perform basic cleaning duties and maintain workstation sanitation in line with HACCP regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or commis chef, or a relevant culinary qualification.
• Knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
• Culinary school diploma, equivalent qualification, or current enrolment in a culinary arts program.
• Passion for food and a genuine interest in the hospitality industry.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and to adapt to shift patterns.
• Good command of the English language.
