Communications Director and Staff Director

About the role

This fully remote position is based in Ireland and combines strategic communications leadership with operational support. The role will shape communication strategies, translate complex AI safety research into accessible narratives, and help align organizational priorities across teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies across multiple channels to raise awareness and engagement.
• Guide team members in creating compelling content, including articles, research summaries, and social media materials.
• Manage social media strategy, content planning, and publishing cadence while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with researchers and program teams to craft strong narratives around technical work.
• Partner with executive leadership to prioritize initiatives, coordinate workflows, and improve organizational alignment.
• Establish systems to track projects, deliverables, timelines, and objectives.
• Facilitate communication between teams and leadership to maintain visibility and accountability.
• Lead cross‑functional projects requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders.
• Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, documentation, and operational processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading communications in a research, technology, or AI‑focused environment.
• Strong storytelling ability to make complex scientific topics accessible.
• Excellent project‑management and organizational systems thinking.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Self‑starter with sound judgment and adaptability.
