Community Engagement Specialist – Limerick & Clare

About the role

Co-operative Housing Ireland is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to work from its Limerick Regional Office and support Member Tenants across the Limerick and Clare region. The role involves developing and delivering community‑engagement initiatives, gathering tenant feedback and helping to shape services that foster sustainable, thriving neighbourhoods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of the national Community Engagement strategy.
• Coordinate local projects that enable Member Tenants to provide input, participate in activities and influence decision‑making.
• Support the formation and sustainability of Resident Groups and Member Associations.
• Facilitate community meetings, consultations and feedback sessions.
• Produce or contribute to internal and external publications and maintain the Member Tenants’ social‑media page.
• Travel regularly to CHI housing developments across Ireland and attend meetings at other CHI offices as required.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills with a friendly and empathetic approach.
• Strong commitment to CHI’s purpose and the interests of its Member Tenants.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel frequently within the Limerick & Clare region and nationally.
• Proactive, collaborative and able to work across departments.

Required skills

What we offer

• Approximate salary of €43,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract, full‑time (35 hours per week).
• Hybrid working model – a mix of onsite presence at the Limerick office and remote work.
